Welcome to kindergarten!
Kindergarten at Veritas provides students with a gentle introduction to formal schooling through a blend of Charlotte Mason-friendly and classical methods. We strive to facilitate strong relationships between teachers and students, and students to their peers. We work to build routines in the classroom and at home that will prepare the whole child for success in their academic career, while preserving vital elements of early childhood learning such as imaginative play, reading with parents, and time outdoors.
Our blend of phonics and sight word instruction, along with regular practice of phonemic awareness skills, will develop early reading skills in students throughout the year. The structure provided through weekly assignment sheets guides families in their at-home instruction while allowing flexibility to meet the needs of each individual child.
Our class schedule includes morning time, penmanship practice, reading lessons, science themed explorations, art, and music - all of which expose students to the truth, goodness, and beauty that helps to develop a true love for lifelong learning.
